PageChecks runs pagechecks.com and the PageChecks: SEO Checker Chrome extension, and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (the "controller" under laws such as the GDPR). You can reach us about anything in this policy at the contact address at the bottom of this page.
Tools that run in your browser, such as the AI Text Humanizer, URL Slug & Query Cleaner, UTM Link Builder, schema and redirect generators, and Anchor Text Auditor, process your input on your device. Your input is not sent to us; we only record that the tool was used.
Tools that check a live website send the URL or domain you enter to our servers. Our servers fetch the public pages involved, identifying themselves as PageChecksBot, and return the results to you. We don't keep your inputs or results after returning them, except as described below for shared audits, usage records, and short-lived caches.
The Technical SEO Audit runs its crawl through Apify. The crawler we use there may send page content to an AI model provider to write the audit summary.
Some checks use other services: Google receives the URL for PageSpeed Insights and Chrome UX Report lookups, and rdap.org receives the domain name for domain registration lookups.
We don't set cookies from our own code or our analytics. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that traffic isn't automated.
The website saves a few values in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and aren't sent to us:
The extension only runs when you open it on a tab. It reads that tab's page to run its checks and shows the results in the extension. It doesn't send page content, URLs, or results to PageChecks or anyone else. Links in the extension open pagechecks.com in a new tab, and this policy then applies to that visit.
Our use of information received from the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
When you share a Technical SEO Audit, we publish its results at a permanent public URL. The page can be embedded on other sites and may appear in search results. It shows the audited website's address, its score and issues, and an AI-written summary. It doesn't include your name, email address, or IP address.
Shared audits stay online until removed. The person who shared an audit, or the owner of the audited website, can ask us to take it down using the contact address below.

We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of PageChecks. Otherwise, only these service providers process it for us:
Our providers process data in the United States and other countries, whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards our providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, Brazil, and several US states, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time.
To make a request, email us at the address below. We'll respond within the time the law requires, usually 30 days, and may need to confirm the request is genuine. We won't treat you differently for using your rights. Because PageChecks has no accounts, we can only find your information if you tell us something we store, such as your email address or a shared audit's URL.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
We don't track you across other websites or sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, so we handle your information the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
PageChecks is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We use HTTPS, restrict access to stored data, store IP addresses only as keyed hashes, and strip query strings and IP addresses from error reports. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll give notice on the site before it takes effect and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
